Mr Anderson is one of my music heroes - seeing Jethro Tull for the first time 3 or so years ago reminded me of how much I loved and wanted to play the flute... and so now I play flute! It's a very vibrant image of a very vibrant performer!

  35. On Ian Anderson, Colin Cartwright
Ian Anderson. The eccentric genius! Fantastic folk-rock music in the 70's. Went downhill from then on, after Stormwatch album.

Love this impressionist painting of his classic, on-stage pose. Full of life energy and a perfect colour palette.
Good highlight spotlight, on his concentrating expression!

I bought the first vinyl in '78 (Songs from the Wood. )Last saw him in 2008. Voice and hair completely gone, but the flute is stunning still.

I also listen to the magical guitar of Joe Satriani, while painting now.
